Coffee Break: Women & Men’s Day

Por eso con un coffee break, nuestros colaboradores conmemoraron el Día de la Mujer y el Día del Hombre, el pasado lunes 10 de marzo. Para la ocasión, la oficina de Gestión Humana, desde Bienestar Laboral, organizó una estación de bebidas calientes en el Auditorio Mateo Ricci, en donde cada integrante del staff recibió como obsequio un mug institucional personalizado con su nombre y una galleta punto rojo, dulce típico barranquillero. Fue un momento, también para compartir e integrarse como compañeros de trabajo; así como para reforzar el valor de este mes: sentido de pertenencia. ----- We joined the trend! Now the celebrations are with coffee and in the morning. That’s why, with a coffee break, our collaborators commemorated International Women's Day and International Men's Day this past Monday, March 10th. For the occasion, the Human Resources office, through Labor Wellbeing, organized a hot beverage station at the Mateo Ricci Auditorium, where each staff member received a personalized institutional mug with their name and a "punto rojo" cookie, a typical sweet from Barranquilla. Talleres de prevención: Profamilia 5° Grado

Por: Diana Quintero Acosta, Comunicadora y Promotora Institucional - Colegio San José De la mano de Profamilia nuestros estudiantes de 5° Grado recibieron talleres lúdicos pedagógicos, el 10 de marzo de 2025. "En el marco de la protección al menor y la comprensión de sentidos de la sexualidad se estará acompañando al grado 5° en talleres lúdicos pedagógicos relacionados con la prevención y riesgos de la pornografía, el manejo del internet y el erotismo, guiados por Profamilia", comentó Mr. Manuel Payares, nuestro Coordinador de SAE. La actividad es apoyada desde Bienestar Estudiantil y el Servicio de Asesoría Escolar SAE. -------- In collaboration with Profamilia our 5th-grade students participated in playful and educational workshops on March 10, 2025. "As part of the protection of minors and understanding the meanings of sexuality, we will be guiding the 5th-grade students in playful educational workshops related to the prevention and risks of pornography, internet management, and eroticism, led by Profamilia," commented Mr. Manuel Payares, our SAE Coordinator. Encuentro con Jardines

University Fair: 10th & 11th Grade

In January, a group of our 11th-grade students traveled to Bogotá to visit Universidad del Rosario, Javeriana, Sabana, Los Andes, Tadeo Lozano, Del Bosque and Externado to decide where they will continue their studies. They were accompanied by Mrs. María A. Camargo, our SAE psychologist for 9th, 10th, and 11th grades. Then, in February, at our Gonzaga Resource Center, 10th and 11th-grade students were very excited to attend the fair we organized with local, national, and international universities to learn about their programs. Among the participating institutions were Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano, La Sabana, Del Norte, Libre, Simón Bolívar, Sergio Arboleda, San Martín, EF, ESIC, De la Costa, Protécnica, Sky Aviation SAS. ---------------- Hemos tenido una agenda muy variada con las universidades e instituciones de educación superior con las que tenemos alianzas. En enero, un grupo de nuestros estudiantes de 11° Grado viajaron a Bogotá, para conocer las universidades del Rosario, Javeriana, La Sabana, Los Andes, Jorge Tadeo Lozano, El Bosque, Externado y decidir en cuál de ellas van a continuar sus estudios. Los acompañó Mrs. María A. Camargo, nuestra psicóloga de SAE de 9°, 10° y 11°. Luego, en febrero, en nuestro Centro de Recursos Gonzaga, los estudiantes de 10° y 11° Grado estuvieron muy contentos en la feria que les ofrecimos con universidades locales, nacionales e internacionales, para que conocieran sus programas. Entre ellas estuvieron la Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano, La Sabana, del Norte, Libre, Simón Bolívar, Sergio Arboleda, San Martín, EF, ESIC, CUC, Protécnica y Sky Aviation SAS. Carnival 2024-25: Cycle 1

Our Cycle 1 children paraded in their finest Caribbean costumes, along with our staff and their families. The event concluded with much joy in the Pignatelli Multiple Room, where the teachers put on a magnificent show. The activity was organized by the Student Affairs and Wellbeing Office. ----- Una fiesta de colores, música y tradición vivimos en el Colegio San José con el Carnavalito. Nuestros niños de Ciclo I desfilaron con sus mejores vestuarios caribeños, junto a nuestro staff y también sus familias. La actividad terminó con mucha alegría en el salón Pignatelli, en donde los docentes hicieron un show magnífico. La actividad fue orientada por Bienestar Estudiantil. These were the values that prevailed during the Carnavalito, from Transition to 11th Grade. After many rehearsals and preparations, our students formed their groups and energized the audience at the Xavier Sports Center on Friday, February 28, 2025. The jury selected 8th Grade and 10th Grade as the winners. Congratulations to everyone for participating! The activity was organized by the Student Affairs and Wellbeing Office. ------ ¡Alegría, respeto y sentido de pertenencia! Fueron los valores que reinaron en el Carnavalito de Ciclos II a Semestralización. Después de muchos ensayos y preparación, nuestros estudiantes presentaron sus comparsas e hicieron vibrar a los asistentes en el Polideportivo Xavier, el viernes 28 de febrero de 2025. El jurado eligió como ganadores a 8° Grado y 10° Grado. ¡Muchas felicitaciones a todos por participar! La actividad fue orientada por Bienestar Estudiantil. Outstanding delegates of Parrish MUN

Parrish, which took place at Universidad del Norte. Our representatives—Henri Lecoultre Álvarez, David Sara Marimón, and Luciano Vengoechea Fontalvo—received diplomas as First Outstanding Delegate, Second Outstanding Delegate, and Best Junior Delegate, respectively. Meanwhile, Juanita Cantillo Ardila delivered an excellent performance. This Model United Nations served as the platform where over 180 students from various schools in Barranquilla debated global issues such as nuclear weapons treaties, the human rights crisis in Venezuela, and others. In Social Studies class, our students thoroughly prepared for their presentations. ------------- El 6 y 7 de febrero, nuestros estudiantes ganaron premios en el MUN del Colegio Karl C. Parrish, en la Universidad del Norte. Nuestros representantes: Henri Lecoultre Álvarez, David Sara Marimón y Luciano Vengoechea Fontalvo, recibieron respectivamente diplomas como First Outstanding Delegate, Second Outstanding Delegate y Best Junior Delegate. Por su parte, Juanita Cantillo Ardila tuvo una excelente participación. Este Modelo de Naciones Unidas fue el escenario donde más de 180 estudiantes de diversos colegios de Barranquilla debatieron sobre problemáticas globales, como los tratados de armas nucleares, la crisis de derechos humanos en Venezuela, entre otros. Desde la asignatura de Sociales, nuestros estudiantes se prepararon rigurosamente para sus ponencias. The renowned vallenato singer Elder Dayán joined us with his music and is also a parent at our Colegio San José. With great sparkle and enthusiasm, the students, together with the kings, also celebrated the Guacherna. As part of the Integral Formation at Colegio San José, through the Student Affairs and Wellbeing Office, the Educational Community embraces the culture and traditions of Barranquilla. --------------------------- Los reyes del Carnaval CSJB hicieron la Lectura del Bando, abriendo así oficialmente la temporada de fiesta en la institución, el viernes 21 de febrero. Nos acompañó con su música el reconocido cantante vallenato Elder Dayán, quien también es padre de familia de nuestro Colegio San José. Con mucho brillo y entusiasmo, los estudiantes junto a los reyes, celebraron también la Guacherna. Estuvimos con hacedores del Carnaval de Barranquilla

By: Diana Quintero Acosta, Comunicaciones y Promoción Institucional - Colegio San José Nuestros estudiantes, con emoción, recibieron a hacedores del Carnaval de Barranquilla. En la Hora Formativa del viernes 14 de febrero, organizada por Bienestar Estudiantil, asistieron a nuestro colegio las danzas Las Farotas de Talaigua y la del Paloteo Reformado. Como representante y directora de Las Farotas, asistió la señora Mónica Ospino Dávila, madre de familia de nuestro colegio. Ella sigue la tradición de La Farota Mayor, la señora Etelvina Dávila Turizo, quien es su madre y fundadora de dicha danza. Esta visita de Las Farotas, aporta mucho principalmente a 11° Grado, que por tradición, año tras año, su temática para el Carnaval es esa danza, la cual resalta la actitud defensora del hombre ante el honor de la mujer. Asimismo, el señor William Pedroza, director de la danza de relación Paloteo Reformado, también estuvo muy contento por nuestra invitación. ---------------------- Our students, filled with excitement, welcomed the creators of the Carnaval de Barranquilla. On the Hora Formativa of Friday, February 14th, organized by Student Wellbeing Office, the dance groups Las Farotas de Talaigua and Paloteo visited our school. Representing Las Farotas, Mrs. Mónica Ospino Dávila, a parent of our school and the director of the Las Farotas de Talaigua Cultural and Folkloric Foundation, attended. She continues the tradition established by her mother, Etelvina Dávila Turizo, the founder. This visit from Las Farotas is especially valuable to 11th grade, which, by tradition, chooses this dance as their theme for the Carnival every year. It emphasizes the man's role in defending the honor of women. Also, Mr. William Pedroza, director of the Paloteo Reformado dance, was also very happy with our invitation.
