When Shakira sang at our festival

By: Diana Quintero Acosta, Communications & Marketing - Colegio San José Did you know that Shakira won 2nd place at our XVI Festival de la Canción? Here, she tells the story herself! It was on September 7th, 1988, and a few days later, she announced it alongside the renowned radio host Mauricio Rider at another music event. She won the award by singing ‘Sin él’, one of the biggest hits by singer Marisella. It was an honor to have you with us back then. You sang for us… and today, you sing for the world. Welcome home! We wish you much success at your concerts in Barranquilla. Watch Shakira’s video and our Song Festival below:

Internal Reflection Process – NEASC

By: Dairo Orozco Molina, Academic Coordinator – San José School Barranquilla Today, Compañía de Jesús – Colegio San José officially launched our New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) Internal Reflection Process, bringing together over 125 passionate educators, psychologists, educational support staff and administrators. Together, we embarked on this year-and-a-half, laying the groundwork for thoughtful conversations, collaboration, and growth.   For us, this journey is more than just accreditation -it’s a valuable opportunity to discern, reflect and contemplate who we are as a learning community on the Caribbean Region of Colombia and how we can continue to foster high-quality learning experiences for every student.   We express our sincere gratitude to our Accreditation Team, Ms. Luisa Álvarez Sanes and Mr. Edgar Barrios, for their enthusiasm, commiment, and energy. PBL Closures – Cycle 3

By: María A. Zambrano, PBL Coordinator - Colegio San José At Colegio San José, our Cycle 3 students showcased their knowledge and creativity through their projects: In Third Grade: Students explored their Atlántico department, identifying its municipalities, traditions, typical food, and music. The Governorate of Atlántico visited them. In Fourth Grade: They analyzed and reflected on our country's environmental and social issues affecting our country. Through their Forum, they shared their perspectives and proposed solutions on how we can all contribute. In Fifth Grade: They delved into their Colombian origins, recognizing their ancestors, their legacies, and the importance of understanding their history to value their identity. We are proud of the hard work and dedication shown by our students and teachers! We invite our entire educational community to continue supporting and actively participating in these meaningful projects. Together, we build a brighter future!     Ver esta publicación en Instagram   Una publicación compartida por Colegio San José Barranquilla (@colsanjose_baq)     Ver esta publicación en Instagram   Una publicación compartida por Colegio San José Barranquilla (@colsanjose_baq)   Una publicación compartida por Colegio San José Barranquilla (@colsanjose_baq)
