Semana por la Paz: Kinder to 5th

By: Diana Quintero Acosta, Communications & Marketing - Colegio San José We celebrated the "Semana por la Paz y la Sana Convivencia" (September 8–12) in Gonzaga, Faber and Claver Cycles (from Kindergarten to 5th Grade). Through dances, soccer matches, peace mimes, and colorful handprint murals, our students embraced the call to build a more fraternal world together. The experience was guided by our Campus Ministry team. In our next post, we will show you how the upper grades (from 6th to 11th) experienced the “Semana por la Paz y la Sana Convivencia". Don’t miss it! ----- Vivimos la "Semana por la Paz y la Sana Convivencia" (8 al 12 de septiembre) en ciclos Gonzaga, Fabro y Claver (desde Kinder hasta 5° Grado). Entre bailes, partidos de fútbol, mimos por la paz y murales de huellas, nuestros estudiantes celebraron la importancia de construir juntos un mundo más fraterno. La experiencia fue guiada por nuestro equipo de Pastoral. Gómez, SJ; Héctor Londoño, SJ; Alfredo Guzmán, SJ; Manuel José Jiménez, SJ; Favio Guerra-Acero, SJ; Johans Isaza, SJ, and Campus Ministry team.It was the moment to introduce our new Student Peace Delegates.Also, as one body, we came together and formed the word PAZ in our schoolyards, with the intention of always seeking it and living it.-----Así vivimos el Día de San Pedro Claver, SJ, patrono de la Compañía de Jesús en Colombia ¡El esclavo de los esclavos!En el marco de la "Semana por la Paz", el 9 de septiembre, hicimos oración durante varias celebraciones litúrgicas, guiados por nuestros jesuitas Luis F. Carlo Acutis: Jesuit alumnus, now a saint

By: Diana Quintero Acosta, Communications & Marketing - Colegio San JoséHe is Carlo Acutis, a Jesuit alumnus of Instituto Leone XIII — a young man who lived fully happy!Él es Carlo Acutis, exalumno jesuita del Instituto León XIII — ¡un joven que vivía plenamente feliz!He wore Nike sneakers and hoodies, loved video games and soccer (an AC Milan fan). His passion was the internet (he programmed in Java), he made jokes to his teachers, and sometimes arrived late to class. He died at the age of 15 from leukemia, in 2006.Usaba tenis Nike y hoodies, le gustaban los videojuegos y el fútbol (hincha del Milán). Su pasión era el internet (programaba en Java), hacía bromas a sus profesores y a veces llegaba tarde a clases. Murió a los 15 años de leucemia, en 2006.Yes, with a life as normal as that of our students, tomorrow, September 7, he will be declared a saint by Pope Leo XIV! Laughter and cheerful voices once again filled our Campus as we welcomed the start of the 2025–2026 school year on August 5th. Our students had a wonderful first day, filled with excitement. Adding to the surprise, Nacho, our beloved male iguana made a grand entrance with a new female companion! What would you name her? -------- ¡Llegó el día! Feast Day of Saint Ignatius of Loyola

On July 31st, representatives from the entire Colegio San José community came together to honor this special day for the Jesuit community. The celebration began with a Eucharist in our Chapel, followed by a fraternal gathering in the Pignatelli Multiple Room. ——– Así celebramos el Día de San Ignacio de Loyola, fundador de la Compañía de Jesús. El 31 de julio, representantes de la Familia San José nos reunimos en este día tan especial para la Comunidad Jesuita. Gómez, S.J. and Manuel José Jiménez, S.J., in our chapel Nuestra Señora del Camino.Before this special day, the students went through a time of catechesis and received the Sacrament of Reconciliation.-----Nuestros estudiantes de 10° Grado recibieron el Sacramento de la Confirmación de manos de Monseñor Pablo Salas, Arzobispo de Barranquilla.La ceremonia concelebrada por los padres Luis F.
