We join in the commemoration of “Red Hand Day” (February 12), a date that remembers the signing of the Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Rights of the Child, which prohibits the recruitment of minors in armed conflicts.
“Colegio San José joins the international call for all children to enjoy a childhood free from violence and exploitation,” said Brother Jesús Díaz, our Director of Campus Ministry.
Mr. John Jaime García, Campus Minister for Cycle 3, expressed, “We raise our voices and paint our hands red to demand: never again should girls, boys, and adolescents be involved in war. It’s in our hands!”
